Denial and truth

A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and beard cut. During the work, an interesting conversation took place between them. They reached the topic of "God." The barber said, "I don't believe God exists." The customer asked, "Why?" The barber replied, “Just go out into the street to see why God doesn't exist. If God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? Would there be so much pain and suffering? I can't imagine a kind God who would allow these things to exist.”

The customer thought for a moment but didn't respond because he didn't want to argue. The barber finished his work, and the customer left the shop. On the street, he saw a man with long, dirty, tangled hair and an untrimmed beard. The customer went back into the barber shop and said to the barber, "In my opinion, barbers don't exist." The barber, surprised, said, "Why do you say that? I am here, and I just cut your hair!" The customer protested, “No! Barbers don't exist because if they did, no one like that man outside would be found with long, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.”

The barber said, "No, barbers do exist; the thing is, people don't come to us." The customer affirmed, “Exactly! That's the point. God also exists, but people don't go to Him and don't seek Him. That's why there is so much pain and suffering in the world...”
