"One cold winter day at noon, when Emily returned home, she found an envelope behind the door that had neither a stamp nor a post office stamp on it.
Only his name and address were written on the envelope.
He opened the envelope with surprise and read the letter inside it:
"Dear Emily…
I will come to your house this evening to meet you.
With love, God
As she placed the letter on the table with trembling hands, Emily wondered why God wanted to meet her.
He was not an important person.
It was in these thoughts that he suddenly remembered the empty kitchen cabinet and said to himself: I have nothing to serve!
So he looked at his wallet.
He only had 5 dollars and 40 cents.
However, he went to the store and bought a loaf of French bread and two bottles of milk.
When he came out of the store, it was snowing heavily and he was in a hurry to get home early and prepare dinner.
On his way back, he saw a poor man and woman who were shivering from the cold.
The poor man said to Emily: Madam, we have no house and no money, we are very cold and hungry, is it possible for you to help us?
Emily answered: I'm sorry, I don't have any more money and I bought these breads for my guest
"Okay ma'am, thank you," the man said, then put his hand on his wife's shoulders and they continued walking.
As the poor man and woman were walking away, Emily felt a sharp pain in her heart.
He quickly ran after them: Sir, Madam, please wait
When Emily reached the poor man and woman, she gave them the basket of food and then took off her coat and threw it on the woman's shoulders.
The man thanked him and prayed for him.
When Emily got home, she was sad for a moment because God wanted to visit her and she had nothing to welcome God.
As he opened the door, he saw another envelope on the floor.
He took the letter and opened it:
"Dear Emily…
Thank you for the good reception and your beautiful coat
with love “God”
