Respecting parents

An old man decided to live with his son, daughter-in-law and four-year-old grandson.  The old man's hands were shaking and his eyes could not see well and he could hardly walk.  While eating dinner, he spilled his food on the table and threw a glass on the ground and broke it.

 The son and daughter-in-law were upset by this old man's dirty work: we have to do something about the grandfather, otherwise he will destroy the whole house.  They put a small table in the corner of the room and the grandfather had to eat there alone.  After a plate fell from his grandfather's hand and broke, he had to eat his food in a wooden bowl.  Whenever the family blamed him, the grandfather would just cry and say nothing.

 One evening, before dinner, the father noticed that his four-year-old son was playing with some pieces of wood.  The father turned to him and said: My son, what are you cooking?  The boy said sweetly: I am making wooden bowls for you and mom, so that you can eat in them when you are old!  And he smiled and continued his work.

 From that day on, the whole family ate together at the same table.
