Sarcasm and humiliation

My late grandmother told me a very beautiful story when I was a child.  It is a story of friendship between a bear and a woodcutter who were friends and ate together for years in the mountains.

One day, the woodcutter cooked soup for lunch, the bear, who wanted to eat the soup, started licking with his tongue and eating with a lot of noise.  The woodcutter got upset and said: "Eat properly, you upset me by eating like this."

The bear didn't eat anymore and went aside and waited for the woodcutter to finish his meal.  He said: Go and get your ax and hit me on the head.  The woodcutter said, "What for?"  We are friends.

The bear said: As soon as I say this, either you will hit me or I will throw you down from the top of the mountain.  The woodcutter took the ax and hit it on the bear's head, blood came out and he fainted.

The woodcutter ran away and didn't go to the bear for a year or two, but after some time he couldn't bear it and went to see if the bear was alive or not.  He saw that the bear was healthy and busy with his work, greeted him and said how happy he is to see that you are doing well.

The bear said: "Look and see if the wound has healed or not?"  The woodcutter looked and said: Yes, thank God, it's good and there is no place left.

The bear said: But the wound of the tongue that you hit is still there, the wound of the ax has healed, but the wound of the tongue is still there.  A stinging tongue sickens the soul.
