Prayer has existed for many years among all religions and human schools, so that all human schools and sects used it in matters such as illness and difficulties, but after the industrial revolution and the introduction of technology into human life, the effect of prayer was seen to be somewhat diminished, to the point that its effect on health and physical issues was denied.
However, in recent years, scientists have again confirmed the belief that the effect of prayer on health and illness is very great. So much so that they have established special research institutes and centers for this issue to prove this claim.
The interesting point is that every day these scientists confirm the instructions of Islam regarding prayer therapy and its effects, surprising many Western experts.
One of the prayers that I have recited several times is this prayer for healing toothache, and if you have faith in your heart, you will definitely receive an answer.
It is narrated from Imam Sadiq (a.s.): After placing her hand on the painful area, she should recite Surahs Al-Hamd, Tawhid, and Al-Qadr, and this blessed verse over it:
(وَ تَرىَ الْجِبالَ تَحْسَبُها جامِدَةً
وَ هِىَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحابِ صُنْعَ اللَّهِ
الَّذى اَتْقَنَ کُلَّ شَیْئٍ اِنَّهُ خَبیرٌ بِما تَفْعَلُونَ) [1]
And you see the mountains, and you think them motionless,
and yet they pass away like the passing of clouds. This is the work of Allah,
Who establishes everything, and He is aware of what you do.
