It took seven years for the land and walls to settle to their final state, so that when the time came to construct the roof, there would be no problems. If I had mentioned this to you back then, you would have thought I was powerless, and I too would have met the fate of other failed architects, ending up dead…

The king and ministers praised his wit and intelligence, assigning him an even greater reward for completing the work. Sanmar finished the Khornak Palace within a year, ready for its grand opening.

A magnificent ceremony was planned for the palace's inauguration, inviting significant political figures from that era and neighboring lands. Sanmar eagerly showed the king and the accompanying delegation the grand halls, corridors, levels, staircases, porticoes, and the beautiful, mysterious views of the palace. In the end, he led the king to a small hidden room, sharing a secret with him. He pointed to a wall and indicated a single brick, saying: "The entire structure of this palace relies on this one brick. If you remove it, the whole palace will gradually and quietly collapse within an hour. I did this so that if one day your country is taken by outsiders, they cannot claim this legendary palace." The king was immensely pleased and astonished by Sanmar's artistry, intelligence, and insight. He promised him a great reward and instructed him to keep this secret.

However, on the day designated to reward the architect Sanmar, he was taken with full honors to the highest balcony of the palace. In front of the spectators, the king ordered him to be thrown down to his death!!!

In his final moments of life, Sanmar looked into the king’s eyes, silently asking why??? The king replied, "So that no one else knows the secret of the palace's immortality and demise." With that sentence, he had Sanmar thrown down, keeping the secret hidden forever…
