Taking out the number one spot as the most dangerous city in the world Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, with a crime index of 82.5.

In 2023 alone the city recorded mass shootings, murders and even people being burnt alive. Brutal and bloody crimes are a serious threat and property crimes are no less concerning.
