On a hot summer day, a crow was flying over a village searching for water to quench its thirst. After a long search, it finally spotted a pitcher in a garden. Excited, the crow swooped down to take a look. To its dismay, it found that the pitcher had only a little water at the bottom, too low for the crow to reach.

The crow thought hard. It was determined not to give up. Suddenly, an idea struck! The clever bird began to gather small pebbles that were scattered around the garden. One by one, the crow dropped the pebbles into the pitcher. With each pebble, the water slowly rose higher.

After many pebbles, the water level was finally high enough for the crow to drink. Satisfied and refreshed, the crow flew away, proud of its cleverness.
