One day, the young man saw three robbers fighting with each other from inside his hut. He shouted, "May God be with you!" The robbers stopped upon hearing this voice, but they saw no one. Then they resumed their fighting. The young man repeated, "May God be with you!" The robbers paused again and looked around, but still saw no one, so they began to fight once more. The young man repeated the same phrase for the third time and then thought to himself, "I must see what this is about." He left his hut and approached them, asking why they were hitting each other.

One of them replied that he had found a magic stick that would open any closed door when struck. The second one said he had found a cloak that made whoever wore it invisible. The third said he had stolen a horse that could take a person anywhere, even to the top of the crystal mountain, and the reason for their dispute was that they didn’t know whether the items should belong to all three of them or how they should divide them.

The young man said, "I will buy these items from you, although I have no money; I have other possessions that are worth much more. However, I first need to test them to see if what you say is true." The robbers equipped him with the horse, draped the cloak around him, and handed him the stick. But then they could no longer see him because he had become invisible. After giving them a good beating, he shouted, "Lazy good-for-nothings! Now you have received what you deserve. Are you satisfied?"

He then mounted the horse and rode up the crystal mountain. When he reached the door of the castle, it was closed. He struck it with the magic stick, and it suddenly opened. He entered the castle and climbed the stairs until he reached the upper hall, where the princess was. In front of her was a gold cup full of drink, but she could not see the young man because he still had the cloak on.

He took off the ring that she had put on his finger and dropped it into the gold cup, where it made a jingling sound. At that moment, the princess exclaimed, "That’s my ring! The man who is supposed to save me is definitely here!" Her servants searched the entire castle, but found no one because he had taken off the cloak and had already left the castle on his horse. The servants and the princess went outside and saw the young man. They then erupted in joyful shouts. He dismounted from the horse, embraced the princess, and she wrapped her arms around him, saying, “Now I am saved, and tomorrow we will hold our wedding ceremony!”
